NEW GRAPHIC NOVEL:
La ciudad de La Dentista
Last spring during Wooly Week, we released a digital preview of the first half of this book, but today we officially release the full book, printed in gorgeous full-color!
Taking place one year after their narrow escape from La Dentista, Carolina and Mía find themselves living in the bustling city of Chicago alongside the enigmatic Aunt Isidora.
Little do they know, the island's dark influence continues to cast a looming shadow over their lives.
Meanwhile, Isidora has done her best to be a surrogate mother to these two teenagers, but she's having strange issues of her own that could threaten the safety of everyone around her.
Do readers need to be familiar with the first book?
Yes, this sequel is written for those familiar with the first book. Many Book 1 mysteries are addressed in this sequel.
What level is the book written at?
We decided to print the Novice Low version of this book, and it's appropriate for Spanish 1 and 2.
That's not to say that every single line of dialogue is 100% Novice Low, but we have scaled the text down to the simplest versions possible.
With the visual context provided by the images, the per-page glossary at the back of the book, and the constant repetition of essential language, this book will be accessible to students with only a few months of Spanish under their belts.
How much does the book cost?
1 book - $15.00
5 books - $11.25 each
10 books - $9.00 each
20 books - $7.50 each
When you see the quality of this print, you won't believe that we can offer such low prices.
I hold up the quality of our printing against that of any major publisher.

Is the digital version of the book online?
Yes, the entire book is available digitally as part of the Wooly subscription.
We hope, however, that you'll consider adding print copies to your classroom libraries. Although the eBooks are great, graphic novels still work best when held in the hand.
Plus, even if your students read it digitally, you'll find that many go back and re-read the physical copies during free voluntary reading, thereby getting much-needed repetition and increased comprehension.
Similar to the first book, it's a mystery first and a thriller second. There is no gore, bad language, or sex. That said, the book does carry a palpable sense of danger.
In our opinion, this book is appropriate for middle school and up. If you felt that the first book was appropriate for your students, "La ciudad de La Dentista" is at the same level of scariness.
Will it be available in French?
Yes, we're well on our way to completing the French version, and we plan to offer it soon!
In the meantime, if you haven't seen "Le manoir de La Dentiste", I can't recommend it highly enough.
