VIDEO: Class Rules

In 2005, I created this short video to introduce my class expectations in a fun way. It was one of the first videos I ever created, and it is still one of my favorites.

Now, please understand, the actual rules of this video should be taken with a large grain of salt.  At the time, I made this video for only one audience — my own students.  So while you may find certain parts to be fun, you might want to skip over other parts (like the 3 checkmarks), .  I personally stopped using the 3 checkmarks rule a few years after this video ended.  It was a little too passive-agressive for my tastes.

I have to give major credit to my student actors who performed better than I could possibly have hoped.  They had no rehearsal, and what's most amazing to me is that they had the focus to do it, especially when you consider they were graduating from 8th grade the very next day!  

I hope you enjoy this little window into my life as a young teacher.  Things have changed a lot since then, but this video will always make me smile.  

And, Sam, I don't know where you're at these days, but your delivery of "I just want thank you, Mr. Wooldridge..." has cracked me up more times than I can count.
