Is Parte 1 a complete story?
No. Me llamo Víctor is one story divided into two books. Parte 1 ends on a cliffhanger, and Parte 2 continues the same story.
Do students need to know the Guapo trilogy first?
Not necessarily, but we recommend it. The story makes sense on its own, but knowing Víctor as an adult adds another layer to his teenage story.
When does Me llamo Víctor take place?
Most of the story follows Víctor at age 15. It is bookended by scenes of an older Víctor that take place shortly before Feo, the final video in the Guapo trilogy.
What proficiency level is the printed book?
The physical edition is written at the Novice High proficiency level and works especially well for many Spanish 2 and Spanish 3 readers.

Although many story threads are left open at the end of Part 1, it has a very clear resolution that will simultaneously leave readers satisfied while also clamoring for the final chapter. -
Do my students need to have seen the Guapo music video trilogy in order to understand this graphic novel?
Ideally, yes. Although the book will make sense whether or not they're familliar with the three music videos, it has been written specifically for students who know the full story of Víctor as an adult. -
